THE MANOR HOUSE

At Old Nectar

The iconic Old Nectar manor house combines early 1800's Cape Dutch style and atmosphere with 21st century comfort.

Home to the van der Spuy family since 1941, we accommodate six guests in comfort in the manor house and we can accommodate up to 16 additional guests in the adjacent cottages, creating the opportunity for large family groups to enjoy the unique Old Nectar experience together.

Our accommodation offers two 6x5 meter en-suite bedrooms located either side of the 7x6 meter 1815 voorkamer reception room and two single bedrooms, one en-suite and one sharing. The 8x5 meter Georgian and Regency diningroom seats up to twelve and both the voorkamer and the diningroom have large open fireplaces.

Our modernised and spacious early 1800's traditional Cape Dutch kitchen is at the heart of Old Nectar's indoor and outdoor living. The manor house has its own garden and terrace surrounds overlooking the world-renowned Old Nectar gardens and the Jonkershoek mountains.

Safe parking and security are all part of the Old Nectar manor house experience. Full daily servicing, cooked breakfasts, morning and afternoon teas or evening canapes are provided by us. Catered lunches and dinners can be arranged on request.

Lovely English style garden in a beautiful setting on the slopes of a hill outside Stellenbosch. The traditional and well preserved cape dutch house frames in the garden nicely and is also worth an inside look. Can really recommend a visit to this place!

Stayed here and would not stay anywhere else when I come back to Stellenbosch. The gardens are beautiful and the people so helpful. Mari and Richard and Peter were always there to help during our stay. The apartment has everything you could need and was so clean.

We stayed in Plum Cottage in the grounds of Old Nectar Manor for 10 days over Christmas. The accommodation was superb. It is very private, with its own garden and pool area. The cottage itself is very spacious, has all amenities, very comfortable beds and is very clean. As guests on the Manor property you can stroll around the beautiful gardens. Mari was wonderful and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Even giving us excellent tips on places to visit and things to see during our stay.
